
V2 Update
At Hypervolt, our mission is to deliver industry-leading charging technology that gets better over time. We know many of you have been waiting for intelligent tariff support on Hypervolt V2 devices, and we want to provide a clear update.
The New Timeline
We are now targeting the end of 2025 for full release of intelligent tariff support on the V2 platform.
We understand how important this feature is to many of you, and we sincerely apologise for the delay.
Why the Delay?
When V2 launched, intelligent tariffs didn’t exist — they emerged later in 2022. This wasn’t a feature we promised or sold with the product, and the platform wasn’t originally designed with that level of energy intelligence in mind. Additionally, in those early days of intelligent tariffs, the landscape was highly consolidated, and energy retailers typically worked with only specific providers.
But the world has moved fast — and so have we. As part of our broader evolution into energy-aware charging, we’ve had to make foundational changes to the V2 platform. This includes:
- Rebuilding all core components and architecture from scratch, bringing them up to today’s standards: WiFi, Ethernet, and Bluetooth communication up to today’s standards
- Aligning V2 with our new infrastructure used by V3 products, which has the sophisticated multi-timezone offline safe scheduling engine behind Intelligent Tariffs.
- Aligning V2 with our latest generation data streaming infrastructure, the superpower that behind the scenes facilitates intelligent tariffs and energy retailer integrations.
- Introducing support for new protocols and energy integrations
What began as a simple feature addition has grown into a complete rework. In truth, we’ve had to rebuild V2 from the ground up — making it compatible with today’s energy innovations, and easier to maintain over the years to come.
We haven’t stopped working on it, and we have not paused developing it, we remain committed to this feature coming to market.
Looking Ahead
The upside is real: once this work is complete, V2 customers will benefit from a far more capable and flexible system than was initially planned. This new foundation will enable us to maintain the v2 platform more effectively, and it will be much more aligned with the future work we are doing.
