A brand that every tradesman and keen DIY-er will intimately be familiar with, Wickes' footprint extends to over 230 stores across the UK and has long been a bastion of high-street stability despite a turbulent decade for British retail. Since launching in 1972 the company has cultivated a strong and well-founded reputation for quality and boasts a fiercely loyal customer base, particularly through it's TradePro contractor programme. Over the past five years its renewables division has grown rapidly to accommodate shifting consumer interest towards greener homes, and in the Spring of 2023 added EV charging to it's line-up with Hypervolt as it's exclusive domestic EV charger.
Our commitment to sustainable British manufacturing, superlative quality (IK10/IP66 rating), and 365 days a year customer support made the alignment a natural fit, and since May 2023 hundreds of Wickes customers have had their homes and lives electrified by Home 3.0 and Home 3 Pro. Wickes' choice to offer only one domestic EV charger in its line up was an eminently pragmatic one, as the adage goes "buy-once, buy-well".
Almost a year on from launch, Wickes' EV charging offering has been strengthen further with the introduction Hypervolt's full turnkey installation service (Do it For Me). For a £410 add on, Wickes customers no longer have to source their own installer, rather Hypervolt will utilise it's nationwide network of fully-vetted Trusted Installers, in tandem with Bedfordshire based installation experts ProEV. All a customer need do is click 'yes' on the 'fully installed' option on Wickes' checkout, and they'll be sent a short virtual installation survey to complete (this takes an average of 10 minutes), and once we've received all the information we need, a member of the team will reach out to schedule an install, this is ordinarily a 2-3 week wait for standard installations, it really is as simple as that. On the day a typical installation takes only 2-3 hours to complete and from there it's many happy years of green motoring, powered by Hypervolt.
Hypervolt's Head of Partnerships, David Woodford said of the partnership, 'Hypervolt, as a young disruptive brand, are delighted to be more closely aligning with a stalwart of the British retail space. This terribly exciting development to our relationship allows our future customers to from a brand they know and recognise, whilst also getting absolutely up-to-date tech. Our partnership brings a huge amount of credibility to both of our brands and helps to drive forward our collective mission which is to live in a more sustainable world.' He continues, 'Almost every town and city in the UK has a Wickes store, but not every street has a Hypervolt yet, together we're going to change that.'

In 1972 the first UK Wickes was opened in Whitefield, Manchester. It was an imaginative new concept - using a traditional DIY store model to sell to the trade - and it made Wickes the first fixed-price builders merchant in the UK. Our first customers (savvy tradesmen and a few keen DIYers) found they could now get all the products they needed to complete entire projects from a single store, at lower prices than other merchants.
We take pride in being an innovative multi-channel retailer. Customers have access to a range of How To guides, ideas and advice to support them with their home improvement projects, while our Click & Collect and home delivery services make it even easier to get the products you need, when you need them.
