Hypervolt Unveils Synergy - The biggest release of the year!

Hypervolt unveils a beta for its next generation app, a transformational experience for solar and storage customers

We are very excited to announce the beta availability of Hypervolt App v6, "Synergy", a transformational, next generation experience for solar and storage customers, bringing together the UK's highest rated EV charger, the most convenient and affordable EV tariffs in the United Kingdom, OVO ChargeAnytime and Octopus Intelligent Go, and Enphase Energy's micro-inverter powered solar and storage, as well as Tesla Powerwall storage! Customers can also enjoy the full power of Synergy by mixing an Enphase powered solar roof with Tesla powered storage!

In the biggest release of the year, Hypervolt unveils a game changing experience, allowing customers to truly maximise the power of their renewable home ecosystem, by providing a premium, real time experience, integrated with leading energy retail platforms and the world leaders in home renewable!

To experience the full power of Synergy, customers will require a 3rd generation Hypervolt device, however we are delighted to announce that Synergy will be compatible with Home 2 devices. To explore the full power of Synergy however, customers will require the v3 hardware platform.

Synergy was designed to work seamlessly with leading tariffs, allowing customers to combine the power of solar generation and batteries with intelligent tariffs, with just a few taps, through the power of OVO Mode and Octopus Mode, directly from the Hypervolt app!

To benefit from £1,000 a year in savings on fuel cost, and to activate Octopus Intelligent Go and OVO ChargeAnytime, customers will require a 3rd generation Hypervolt device, however we remain committed to enabling tariff support for v2 customers by end of 2024.

What's new

Synergy represents a significant upgrade to our connected app, featuring a complete redesign of the main user interface to better meet the needs of our sophisticated customers. It comes equipped with a range of exciting new features, that empower owners of truly renewable homes, with solar panel systems and home batteries:

1. BatterySafe mode: A configurable mode that can be automatically scheduled, this allows customers with home storage to balance and control their battery consumption in real-time, making sure usage is automatically allowed to happen only when it is convenient and economic to do so
2. LiveView: An existing feature of the Hypervolt app, now offers the ability to review information from the house, EV charger, solar panels and home battery in real time. This feature is only available with AC coupled batteries, such as Enphase IQ5 or Tesla Powerwall 2 or 3, and requires the installation of a 2nd CT clamp
3. DCProtect: A truly unique innovation from Hypervolt, DCProtect allows BatterySafe mode to work seamlessly for both AC and DC coupled batteries. Through advanced proprietary algorithms,  DCProtect allows BatterySafe mode to function through a single CT clamp, minimising the amount of cost and installation work required to enable this very powerful feature.
4. BatterySafe for intelligent tariffs: Through UltraGrid's Kala scheduling engine, leading grid connected platforms such as OVO - Kaluza and Octopus - Kraken now additionally have the power to control if customer batteries will be be utilised during intelligent charging, increasing the quality of end user experience through a mechanism compatible with any brand of battery, whether AC coupled or DC coupled, available with just the standard CT clamp included out of the box.

How to join

We are welcoming customers with home energy systems to help us test, and we are working hard to deliver final improvements and make Synergy available to all of our customers  by end of September 2024! We hope this is going to bring a truly next generation experience for all Hypervolt owners!
