Hypervolt App 5.0.0 Beta Release
We are incredibly excited to announce the beta availability of app v5.0.0. Over the past few months, our engineering teams have been working incredibly hard to bring to life this from-the-ground up rebuild of the app, learning from the last 2.5 years of being in the market, and from all of your feedback!
Starting today, we are opening up a limited beta release of version 5.0.0 of the Hypervolt App for both iOS and Android. We are doing this to allow us to fully test everything new and to make sure the app is truly ready for each and every one of you.
We will start with an initial set of 50 users for iOS and 50 users for Android, and we will be monitoring progress to ensure that we address any bugs or issues should they arise. We will increase the number of users we can welcome to the beta over the weeks to come, in preparation for a full public release!
We would like to take this opportunity to thank our customers for their patience, continued support and extensive feedback, helping us continue to push the bar further and further. We hope app v5.0.0 will bring some long awaited improvements to the mix.
For users who have any power generation system at home (solar, wind, hydro, etc) we now offer better information about how much energy we believe you’re generating off-grid and how much you are pulling in from your energy provider. This should make it much easier to tell when you’re charging your EV using locally-generated green energy, and help you understand how much you’ve been saving by doing so.
It is important to note that these figures are estimates rather than direct measurements, as most installations will not have the 2nd CT clamp necessary to directly measure energy generation from the local source. We are comparing the power measured coming in from the grid and the power measured going through the charger to your EV; if there is more power going to your EV than there is coming in from the grid we can be certain that there is local generation taking place.
We have made a significant overhaul of the visual elements in the application, and taken on board user feedback to make it easier to find key controls and data, as well as highlighting the charger status and presenting clear indications of when charging is happening, why charging is not happening, and whether or not your charger is online.
By popular demand from many of our customers, we have also implemented dark mode, allowing you to make better use of your Hypervolt app, and enjoy a superior UX experience.
We have completely replaced one of the most important parts of the Hypervolt experience: the bluetooth stack. From the commissioning and testing process, to changing Wi-Fi networks and getting a Hypervolt device connected to your account, a smooth bluetooth experience is critical, and we are very excited that we have been able to massively step up our game.
We leverage Apple TestFlight and Google Play Store to allow for secure access to new app releases. Access is granted automatically on a first come first served basis, and while we may add more space over time our goal is to use this testing to allow us to finalise the application for a general release in the coming weeks.

For those of you using iOS, please use the built-in TestFlight functionality for submitting feedback (see Apple’s documentation for more details).
For Android users, as the Play store does not have this built-in feedback method, please provide feedback via email to feedback@hypervolt.co.uk - any screenshots are appreciated, as well as an explanation of what you were trying to do, and what actually happened.
